Human brain is about two percent of your body weight but it uses about 20 percent of your body energy.  Nutrition affects how young brains develop. It affects how we learn, it affects our memory it affects how we recover after brain injury so nutrition matters. If you fill your body with foods high in sugar and saturated fats it's not going to be as good for your brain. So what should we eat to help our brains in general we found that it's best for the brain to have a diet that includes a lot of fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains cereals, nuts and seeds.Try to get more protein from plant sources and fish choose healthy fats like olive oil and canola rather than saturated fats. Limit your intake of processed foods fast foods and sweets.

Green leafy vegetables:

Green leafy vegetables like kale, spinach, romaine lettuce, chard and broccoli are super rich in brain healthy nutrients and antioxidants.

Fatty Fish:

Fatty fish are rich sources of omega-3 fatty acids about 60 percent of your brain is made of fat and half of that is the omega-3 kind our brain uses omega-3s to build brain and nerve cells and these fats are essential for learning and memory.
